    The EAL Upper School Programme is an academic English language proficiency course that enables non-native English speakers to develop competence in oral communication, writing ability and reading comprehension in the English language.

    One of the central goals of the EAL Programme is to support students in their core subject classes. This involves giving weekly support time in EAL; assistance to help students with assignments from their subject classes.

    Students will be tested two times (August and
    May) during the school year using Oxford Placement Test 1© Dave Allan 2004 - Oxford University Press Great Clarendon Street, Oxford( for assessing language level and appropriate placement in the EAL programme(curriculum level, text level, assignment level, etc,) and June (to get a measure of the progress made in order to determine EAL placement for the next academic year.
